The original Hello Sailor font was drawn and released in January of 2014. Since then, the old school traditional tattoo letterforms have appeared on countless merch designs and flash paintings featured on websites like Mintees and Etsy. I've often thought about how I could make Hello Sailor better. Over several revised releases, I added small caps in the lower case, and European character support. The real breakthough came when I saw the work of a specific designer, and I didn't quite recognize the font. It appeared as though they had converted Hello Sailor into a monoline for their work.
