Our Broadcast License is intended for television and film producers, for their titles and credits. This license will cover you for the following use:
- Any part of content produced for a single Broadcast, such as a film, movie, television program, or video content,
- But only if the expected reach or unique audience exceeds 250,000 people
- And you are welcome to have your video content available for sale, or offered for free as part of a paid membership
When would I need additional Broadcast Licenses?
You'll need additional Broadcast Licenses for each additional Broadcast, episode, or piece of video content, except as per the list below.
And if you've updated or re-released the content, and existing customers will have to repurchase it (think Star Wars Special Editions, for example), then you'll need a new Broadcast License.
You'll also need to ensure that the license tier you've purchased covers the expected reach and/or unique audience within the first year after Broadcast.
When would I not need additional Broadcast Licenses?
- If you're not expected to hit an audience of 250,000 people within the first one (1) year
- For your trailers! That includes any commercials, previews, or short-form social media posts, as long as the videos are only used to advertise the Broadcast for which a license is held
- Any static graphic images included in any static advertising content, such as posters, prints, flyers, or billboards (for that you would need a Standard and Multi-Use License Agreement)
- Regional or format variations of Broadcast for which a Broadcast License is held (that means versions in other languages)
- Updated or revised versions of a Broadcast for which a Broadcast License is held, but only if it's offered free to previous customers
