About the Typeface

Sailor Tattoo Hand Regular is a hand-drawn monoline serif tattoo script designed for flash painters and merch designers. This new typeface is inspired by classic traditional flash in the style of the legendary Sailor Jerry. It features European and accented characters, punctuation, and more.

Sailor Tattoo Hand also features a whole host of in-fill symbols stored in the Private Use Area. You can access all of the characters through your Character Map.

Sailor Tattoo Hand Modern

Sailor Tattoo Hand Modern was developed as a way to solve some of the challenges I had with using the original version for some professional flash paintings. The flash paintings required less ornamented text in a heavier weight. To accommodate these painting projects, Sailor Tattoo Hand Modern was developed. Ornamentation was removed, stroke weight was doubled, and letter sizes were balanced to balance out the removed serifs. The character set was streamlined to ensure a faster deployment. The character set has been limited accordingly.
