About the Typeface

Sailor Scrawl was developed to supplement the nautical tattoo fonts currently available. The Sailor Scrawl font family goes above and beyond by bringing a hand-lettered look to your paintings and merch designs. The Sailor Scrawl Fancy typeface adds additional ornamentation in each character.

Version 2.04, Released September 1, 2024

We are proud to announce the latest release of Sailor Scrawl, Version 2.04. Here's what's new in this version:

• Established the 'Sailor Scrawl' Style Map Family Name, with 'Regular', 'Fancy', and 'Black' now listed as Style Map Style Names
• Added numbers
• Added special characters, including #, @, %, and &
• Added European letters and currency symbols, such as €, ſ, Þ, Đ, and £
• New ! character
• Extended the volume of glyphs from 226 to 517 by adding accented characters and accents
